Nurturing Beauty Responsibly

At Tenderheart Botanicals, we are committed to conducting our operations with a strong ethical foundation, grounded in sustainability, community support, and artistic expression. Our values shape every aspect of our business, ensuring that we contribute positively to the environment, local communities, and the world of floral artistry.

 Sustainability Matters:

  • We prioritize sustainability in all aspects of our business, from sourcing materials to waste management. Our commitment is reflected in our use of eco-friendly practices, including composting, recycling, designing foam free, and donating left over flowers to local hospice care and retirement homes.

  • We choose suppliers and partners who share our dedication to sustainability, seeking out eco-conscious growers and vendors who adhere to ethical and environmentally friendly practices. One of our favorite resources for obtaining local product is the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market.

Local Flowers, Global Impact:

  • Embracing the beauty of our local surroundings, we proudly prioritize sourcing flowers from local growers. This not only supports our community but also minimizes the carbon footprint associated with transportation.

  • By choosing locally sourced blooms, we celebrate the unique flora of our region, providing our clients with fresh, seasonal flowers that tell a story of our local landscapes.

  • When sourcing we first prioritize flowers grown in Washington and then broaden our sourcing to the West Coast. We are committed to never sourcing flowers from carbon heavy import locations like the Netherlands, Columbia, and Ecuador.

Artistic Expression and Innovation:

  • Our commitment to creating art extends beyond the visual appeal of our arrangements. We see each bouquet as an opportunity for artistic expression, reflecting the emotions and stories of our clients.

  • We embrace innovation in floral design, experimenting with new techniques and materials to bring fresh, inspiring creations to our clients. Our artists are passionate about pushing the boundaries of traditional floral arrangements to offer truly unique and personalized designs.

By adhering to these principles, we aim to not only create stunning floral arrangements but also contribute positively to the planet and our community. We believe that beauty should be nurtured responsibly, and our ethical framework is a testament to that belief.

Thank you for choosing Tenderheart Botanicals, where ethics and artistry flourish hand in hand.

Inclusion & Accessibility

Tenderheart Botanicals’ owner, Leila Jordan, is a proud mixed-race, LGBTQIA+, woman in floral design. We strive to make our practices and business more inclusive every year. Here are some changes we’ve made in 2024:

  • Gender Inclusive Contract Language: All of our contract language now implements gender neutral terms for the couple getting married, the members of the wedding party, and all associated florals. For example, what used to be called the “Bridal Bouquet” is now simply called the “Primary Bouquet”.
